Vulvovaginal candidiasis (Vaginal yeast infection) is a common infection in women.
Common symptoms include itching, burning, soreness, irritation of the vulvar with the classic white, thick, and clumpy (cottage cheese-like) discharge with no or minimal odor. Symptoms are often worse during the week prior to menses. On examination, the external genitalia or vagina often appears red and swollen.
